Essential Link Building Checklist

Can you imagine building links with multiple sites and found that ALL of them are worthless? What will you do after that? I can guarantee that 80% of you will give up on link building after that… 50% will give up on SEO… and 30% will give up Internet Marketing altogether. This may not be about money but the time and effort that you have put in for maybe the past 1 year. But if you are paying your links with money (which I don’t recommend), then please read through this checklist before putting a penny down.
- Make sure the link used are in HTML (<A HREF> coding). Links that are in javascript-based are worthless. You can do a view source on that page to see their links scripting.
- Make sure the rel=NOFOLLOW attribute is not used or else Google will not follow the link.
- Check the PageRank of the page that your link will be on. This must be the exact page. PageRank is based on page and not the whole site.
- Check the Alexa Traffic Rating. Though the rating can be easily manipulated, it is still worth the check.
- Make sure your Anchor Text can be used for the links as it will be essentially your most important keywords.
- Last but the least, make sure the page that your link is situated is indexed by Google.
I sincerely hope that you don’t give up on link building as it is one of the most important aspect in Search Engine Optimization and of course it requires a lot of hard work. All the best!
